Of all the seasons, spring is the season of hope. New life steadily makes its presence felt, greening the grey and bringing colour, slowly at first with bright yellow and blue crocuses and gathering pace with daffodils, wild garlic and bluebells. By spring’s end, vibrant pink cherry blossom, bold yellow, purple and red tulips, and fully clothed trees, in that neon green of new growth, fulfil the promise of those early March days.
Wildlife stirs, from boxing hares to nesting birds. The days lengthen and the earth begins to thaw. As we venture out, some days still carry a sting as if reluctant to fully relinquish winter’s hold, but the sun’s rays are a balm, bringing memories of warmer days gone by and a taste of the warmer days to come.
This season, we’ll be talking about the birds that herald spring, trees in blossom, the best daffodil and bluebell walks and much more. Join in with your pictures, stories, comments and questions.
Hello spring…you are so welcome.
